Is that an Impala SS? Either way it's a very cool security car

Fauxpala. Looks like 1991-1992 Caprice with Impala grille.

Yes it is. Amazed they didn't pick a Caprice instead.

I think it's just a Caprice.

its just a caprice, the little rear window behind the rear door is the giveaway. the impala ss cars had a dog leg in them while the caprice didn't.

Maybe a Caprice with an Impala front end?

yeah, probably has the lt1 in it still, many caprices were cop cars so they had good motor in them

To further clarify, Caprices got the kink too in '94, but since this vehicle is kinkless, it can't be an Impala.

I didnt know that, learned something today, that's usually what I look for to see if its an impala, luckily the impala was only ever offered in 3 colors

The 9c1 was a beast. These were kept on police forces for a very long time.

Well then my work here is done :)
The "coversions" are usually incomplete enough to tell the difference anyways. I look for the kink as possible LT-1 cars. The early kinkless versions had weaker motors, even the cop cars.
Damnit now I'm jonsing for an LT-1 B-body again!

ive had my fill of LT1 cars, had a 97 Z28 and after that nightmare, no more LT1s unless they are 70-71 LT-1 Camaro Z28s or Corvettes

I've yet to own one, so I guess I'll have to learn the hard way. There's s teal '96 Impala SS that's been sitting a few blocks away from my house since I moved in 4-1/2 years ago. It looked perfect then, and has gradually decayed. The urge to try and save it is becoming stronger every day.

an impala is not as bad as a f-body, a buddy has a 95 SS impala that ive helped work on. there is room to mess with the plugs and the opti-spark. in the Camaro there is zero room, took over a week to do a simple plug and wire change.

I could see that with an F-body. The engine tucked under the cowl is a marvel of inefficient space usage.

the biggest issues though is mainly the LT1 itself and the stupid opti-spark, best mod for a lt1 is convert to coil packs
